Having cabinets doesn’t necessarily equate with usefulness. Often, we move into homes with existing cabinetry and we just aren’t sure how we will be using them until we actually are using them day in and day out. One of the biggest frustrations with kitchen storage can be a lack of usefulness with the space available. You have cabinets, but large cabinets that you can’t see to the back of or reach the very back of, are not useful cabinets. It’s not necessarily a lack of space that is the problem always. Sometimes, it is how best to use the space we do have. A great organizational tool that will help you make the most out of the storage space in your cabinets is a roll out drawer. You can find six differently sized chrome roll out drawers here at SpaceSavers. As one reviewer wrote, after installing and using one, he ordered five more. Do you want to get started on a cabinet re-haul?
Step one: Evaluate to determine the problem cabinets. Which ones have a lot of pots, pans, countertop appliances, mixing bowls, or food storage containers that you find difficult to reach? Which cabinets have food pantry items that you cannot reach or even see at the back of the cabinet? Do you have anyone in your family with lower back problems that make bending over and reaching to the back of a deep lower cabinet a painful process? These are the cabinets roll out drawers can revolutionize into useful cabinets.
Step two: Measure your cabinets. Measurements to consider are the width, depth, and height of the individual cabinets. The reason to consider the height of the cabinet is not so much to determine if the roll out drawer is too high for your cabinet, because that is unlikely since all of the drawers are four inches in height, but to help you decide what items you can successfully store on the drawer in the cabinet. If you are storing a mixer stand, for example, you will need the clearance room, height – wise, in the actual cabinet.
Step three: There are six differently sized chrome roll out drawers available. Select a drawer that best fits within your cabinet’s dimensions. Keep in mind that you want a roll out drawer that is slightly smaller than your actual cabinet’s dimensions. It is safer to go too small instead of too big. At least a too small roll out drawer would still fit in your cabinet. Another thing to consider when ordering and measuring is if you have such a large cabinet that you would be better off installing two narrow, but deep roll out drawers instead of just one. Take all of those factors into consideration when measuring and planning the layout of where you want to place the drawer and which sized one you need.
All six sizes come with all of the hardware needed for installation. They have an easy mount design that makes install possible for anyone. Each chrome roll out drawer comes with industrial grade ball bearing glides. The drawers are meant to last. The chrome is attractive. Following is a list of the six different sizes they come in and make sure to click on the pictures of each individual drawer to get more details.
