You can set the height of the lower shelves to accommodate the height of specific appliances like a bread maker or stand mixer. Or these wide shelves can be paired with bins or storage totes to hold baking accessories (cookie cutters, sprinkles, cupcake liners), foodstuffs, or pans. The cutting board surface is just the right height for food prep and then cooking with the addition of a cooking rack. The cross shelf comes with "S" hooks that you can use to hang utensils or oven mitts just below the narrow upper shelf which is great for smaller baking accessories, canisters of spices or decorative accents.
If you're looking for alternate uses - this baker's rack would also work as craft and tool center. The lower shelf has a 200lb. load capacity and would easily hold heavier tools such as drills, Dremmels, and saws, or your sewing machine Cricut tools or other craft items.
